Moira Marquis is founder of Prison Banned Books Week, an annual campaign designed to raise awareness of carceral censorship. She has a PhD in English from UNC Chapel Hill has published academic and popular writing including as the author of the PEN America report “Reading Between the Bars.” Her book Thought Threats: Carceral Censorship in America will be published in 2027.
