Bethany Powell

Massachusetts Program Director

Bethany Powell is a lifelong writer and has always been interested in building spaces for creativity. After discovering Poetic Justice in 2018, she spent a year volunteering with two different classes before having to relocate, but sought out a local organization to continue similar work, until rejoining Poetic Justice to launch the Massachusetts program in 2025. At Mount Holyoke College as a Frances Perkins Scholar, her capstone project focused on oral history interviews with facilitators of restorative writing groups. She is committed to building community with other organizations that value creative practices for healing and shared humanity.
